I have practiced bankruptcy law in Topeka, KS for 30 years and have filed thousands of bankruptcies over that time frame. It is the ONLy thing that I do. I am a member of the Kansas BAr Association and admitted to practice law in all of the Courts of the Sate of Kansas including the US District Court and US Bankruptcy Court.
I am a member of the Topeka Area Bankruptcy Council and have served as its President, Vice President and Treasurer over many years. I have served on the BankruptcyRules Committee for the District of Kansas and am a member of NACBA (National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys). This organization is one of over 6,000 members across the country who file consumer bankruptcies for individuals. I am member of NABT (National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees) and served as its president from 1997-1999. The NABT is an organization of bankruptcy trustees who are appointed to Chapter 7 cases. I have administered over 20,000 such cases in a 20 year span from 1988 to 2003. I have testified before Congress on Bankruptcies issues and Contributed to the Bankruptcy Review Commission which reviewed bankruptcy laws betwween 1995-1999. I have helped draft bankruptcy legislation over many years, some of which became law in one fashion or another.
I have served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Housing and Credit Counseling in the 1990's and was on its Board for 6 years. This agency is a not for profit agency in Topeka, KS which provides assistance to individuals who have credit or debt problems as well as those looking to rent or buy houses in the North East Kansas area.
